Editorial policy
Every fact has a source and a date
No claim reaches an article without a source we can link to and the date we verified it. Both appear on the article. Anything older than 60 days is automatically queued to be re-checked, which is why our opening hours and prices are usually right when other guides’ are not.
What we do not cover
Sandai is a lifestyle and utility publication. We do not report on crime, court cases, deaths, accidents or party politics. Those stories matter — they are simply not ours, and writing about named people in legal trouble carries a risk we have no reason to take. Our pipeline filters this material out before it ever reaches a writer.
Negative claims about real businesses
We will not say a business has closed, is unsafe, or is bad value without a citable source. Singapore is small and a business is someone’s livelihood.
AI, stated plainly
AI reads our sources, finds stories and writes first drafts. A human editor fact-checks every draft against its sources and approves it before publication. Articles produced this way carry a note saying so. We do not publish AI text unreviewed, and we do not pretend a machine is a person.
Money
Sponsored articles are labelled “Sponsored” at the top. Affiliate links are disclosed at the top. We may earn a commission when you sign up through one, at no extra cost to you. Payment determines whether something is featured; it never determines whether we checked it, and it never buys a claim we cannot source.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, tell us and we will fix it and say what changed. Articles show the date they were last checked, not just the date they were first published.
